  • St George, Bloomsbury not on Hugh Wallis Batch so won't be on IGI?

I wanted to check if a marriage (John Butcher born about 1786 Buckingham and Elizabeth born about 1788 Southgate, Middx) was in the Marriages record of St George's, Bloomsbury, London.

The church doesn't appear to be listed on the Hugh Wallis Batch Nos website. A search for marriage in IGI has produced no results. Should I take it that if the church isn't listed on Hugh Wallis, it won't be on IGI?

I have just discovered a son I didn't know about:

Bap: John Butcher bap 31.1.1813 at St George's. All the subsequent children from 1818 onwards were bap at Old Church, St Pancras. As his father's profession is given as Stone Mason, I know I have the right entry.

UPDATE: Have just checked the website for St George's and their historical records are held at the London Met.

in short NO.. Hugh Wallis site is not complete, and it only covers extracted entries, the IGI covers alot more but has submitted entries and extractions, you could try the 'pilot site' from the LDS which is housing more and more things, this includes american census and bishops transcripts.

There's a John Butcher married Elizabeth Crew on 14 Dec 1812 but its at St George, Southwark.

Edit: I can only find one marriage for a John Butcher at St George, Bloomsbury. 11 Apr 1801, John Butcher married Ann Nicholes.

Anne - it keeps coming back to that one:

Ancestry London Marriages: John Butcher Spouse: Elizabeth Crew
Marriage: 14/12/1812 St George The Martyr, Southwark, Surrey.

Interestingly, my John Butcher's son ended up in Southwark working in 1851. There were Butchers there.

UPDATE - tried the pilot IGI for St George - nil.

Having to disappear for a while now...thanks for your help.
