Internet Explorer

Hi there everyone - can anyone help.
Since yesterday afternoon (Sunday) I am finding that Internet Explorer on both my computers is running very very slowly or not opening my web pages at all. It's still the same this morning. I don't even know how to tell if I am running IE 6, 7 or 8. My service provider is AOL and I'm on broadband. The odd thing is that I can use Internet Explorer with no problem with BBc iplayer and the TV channels.
Can anyone throw any light on this please. Thanks. Carole.

I don't know the answer to your problem about IE running slowly, but to tell which IE you're using, click on Help on your tool bar and then "About Internet Explorer". A box should come up which will say what version it is
