Hi
I have found a photo/postcard of a relative who was a POW.
The photo shows a group of POW's unpacking Red Cross crates/parcels outside a row of wooden huts.
On the back it is written out like a post card.
On the right is give the address it is to be sent to, on the left it says;
KRIEGSGEFANGENEN POST
GEBUHRENFREI
ZUNAME: G BORRETT 005
1 KOF B.A.B.20
HEYDEBRECK 0/55
GERMANY
It then has two official stamps on it, one in black ink which says;
Kgf.B.A.B.20
3
Gepruft
the second is in red ink and has a picture of a crown and says;
PASSED
P.W.341
I believe G.Borrett to be my Great-grandmothers brother;
George Henry Borrett
Born in Sevenoaks, Kent
4/8/1917
I can't find a marriage or death certificate for him so I am not sure if he made it out or died in the camp.
I'm afraid I don't know what regiment he was in on what rank he held.
If anyone can shed any light on this I would be very grateful
Thanks
