  • William Pryce Evans

My 3 x gt grandfather was called William Pryce Evans b. 1845 Soughton Mountain, Northop, Flintshire, North Wales son of William Evans and Jane Williams. both of Northop.

My question is, the Pryce name. Is it just another forename or is it a surname that has been handed down?

    Thanks

No easy answer to this one!
I think you will only get an answer to that by tracing the family back.
You may find it is handed down from one of the grandparents, or even further back - on the other hand if you don't find any other Pryce names it could just be a second forename!

Thanks for that. It has been very difficult tracing my 'Evans' and 'Jones' side in Wales as you can imagine. and William Evans is as far back as i have got on that side, so don't know if his mother was a Pryce?
