  • Could a Dorothy be a Daisy?

Do you think someone christened Dorothy in 1910s be nicknamed Daisy?

I'm hunting for a birth for a Daisy, but so far only likely one is a Dorothy....certainly nobody's ever attempted to cll me Daisy:Big Grin:

Anything is possible Dorothy. Doting parents/grandparents/aunts etc often called children by affectionate nicknames as babies that stuck into adulthood. That's what makes this game so 'interesting' sometimes lol

That's true Chrissie, my late mother was Doreen but her family always called her Dolly. Aparentlymy uncle Matthew said she was like a little dolly when born and dolly stuck from then on.

Dorothy is usually abbreviated to Dot or Dolly, or Doro. But Daisy might be a pet name because she liked daisies or a name like calling someone Petal or Flower.

That's OK Val, whenever you can have a look.

Sorry, not been in here for a couple of days, due to new site/problems - having to ration myself a bit until my eyes get used to it.

I'd be grateful for anything you find. But please don't spend too much of your valuable time on it.
