  • William and Harriett Mitchell help

    Hello all

I have a gentleman by the name of William Mitchell born c1835 in Exton Hampshire and his wife Harriett ? born c1840 in Alton Hampshire.

I have them on the 1891 and 1881 census living in Walderton Sussex.
    RG11; Piece: 1136; Folio: 58; Page: 14

I cannot seem to find them on any previous census, can someone please help me?

    Thankyou in advance:xmas_smile:

    1871 - transcribed as Mitchene
    RG10; Piece: 1218; Folio: 58; Page: 11
    - Ancestry.co.uk

He is William H Mitchell on 1881 census - but Henry on 1871.
Children seem to match quite well!

There is the following which appears to be a mistranscription and has other problems - you will see what I mean when you look at it-
        1871
        Harriett MITCHENE - b 1840, Alton.
May not be yours but worth a look - it has me confused, the children are correct I think but hubby has a different name.
let me know what you think.
        Good luck.:xmas_sign:

        Oooops too slow again:xmas_frown:
