Does anyone know where the town of Kayme in Dorset is? Possible ancestors of OH were born there in the 1500's but I can't find it on modern maps so don't know which area would have parish records for it.
Thanks

Historian David Ross visits the medieval church at Winterbourne Came, near Dorchester, burial place of poet William Barnes. Photos, church history, and visiting information.
Researching: BENNETT (Leics/Birmingham-ish) - incl. Leonard BENNETT in Detroit & Florida ; WARR/WOR, STRATFORD & GARDNER/GARNAR (Oxon); CHRISTMAS, RUSSELL, PAFOOT/PAFFORD (Hants); BIGWOOD, HAYLER/HAILOR (Sussex); LANCASTER (Beds, Berks, Wilts) - plus - COCKS (Spitalfields, Liverpool, Plymouth); RUSE/ROWSE, TREMEER, WADLIN(G)/WADLETON (Devonport, E Cornwall); GOULD (S Devon); CHAPMAN, HALL/HOLE, HORN (N Devon); BARRON, SCANTLEBURY (Mevagissey)...
Thanks Julie and Christine - I found lots of entries on IGI for births in Kayme, Dorset, and when I googled it there were other people also mentioned as heving been born in Kayme, mostly in the late 1500's. Christine, I will check out Winterbourne-Came, that sounds very possible, especially as another place mentioned on the IGI page was Muston, which now seems to be Winterbourne Muston, so they may have been in the same area.
Thanks for the link.

This might be of some help:
"Camesworth (in Netherbury) Kaymmswoth 1288, Kaymesworth 1332, Caymeswouth 1340, Caymyswothe 1518. An estate on the River Woth (now called the River Brit) held by a family called Kaym or Caym, see Wooth Grange also in this parish.
