Just bought a technika webcam and headset from Tesco and it keeps crashing my laptop. Can anyone advise why this is happening please?

I have already downloaded the driver (although i had installed the disk in the box) but it made no difference. I am taking the webcam back today for a refund and will try a different brand from PC World.
