Newspaper archives

Does anyone know if it is possible for local paper archives to be viewed in libraries away from the locality?

I am interested in something from the 1970's in Devon but live in North Wales so not easy to do!

I don't know of any way of doing this but libraries are usually very helpful. If its something specific (ie not a long search on dates) they would usually be happy to do this for a smal photocopying fee. I would try emailing or ringing the Devon libraries and see what they say.

I can echo what Anne said. I've had help from Bedford, Doncaster, Grimsby, Newmarket libraries to name a few. Some sent copies free of charge, others I paid a few quid for.
