  • Mystery about surname ......?

I have found the following marriage which I am hoping will relate to my REDDING family..

    September Qtr 1862 Alcester, Warwickshire.

EMMA REDDING & JAMES COLLYCOTT ( I have looked at the image on Ancestry & FMP & the spelling of the surname is as stated) BUT...I cannot find this couple on any census, so I am left wondering if the Collycott name is not spelt this way. I have nothing in writing regarding this couple apart from the marriage on FreeBMD etc. so I have no info as regards to any children that they may have had to help with locating them. I really would appreciate any help or advice on unravelling this mystery...

    Thank you,
    Margaret.
Family Names : HALE, GREEN, BROUGH, HARRIS, FARMER, REEVES, MINCHIN, CORNISH, WARD.

Have you looked for a death for the husband and the wife remarried before the next census, this happened to one of mine, it took me over a year to figure it out.

          IGI clarifies the date,

          EMMA REDDING

          Marriages:
          Spouse: JAMES COLLYCOTT
Marriage: 06 JUL 1862 Haselor, Warwick, England

Might be worth looking at 1871 Haselor images, see if they stayed there

Thank you so much for your help in finding them...I really appreciate the time you have taken to help me, I am certain that this is indeed the family I am seeking as the age of Emma matches exactly & she was indeed born in Haselor. Once again sincere thanks to you one & all.....
