Family tree hit a brick wall

maybe posted this in the wrong place, and I am remember typing this a few nights ago to post but it does not appear to have reached the forum:conf: sorry
Anyway on my wife's side we have a Barker born c1832, She is listed in the 1871 as a widow census in yorkshire as Emily Barker bron Scotland sons William (16) Arthur (10) Amey (8) Emily (7) Henry (4) Mary (2) Amelia (1). The 1851 census shows her as married to George. What I am trying to find is her maiden name and place of birth so we can trace the Scotland side of the family. Any help please:smilee::smilee:

The best way of finding her maiden name is to purchase the birth certificate of one of the children.

This could be Amelia's registration (from freeBMD)

Hi Rob,

I've had a look on scotlandspeople & found an Emily Wing b. 1837, Melrose, Roxburgh.

Also found a marriage for George Barker & Emily Wing on freebmd.
September 1853 Barnsley, Yorkshire.

There is a public tree on Ancestry with Amy Barker b. 1862 Worsborough, Yorkshire, father: George Barker & mother: Emily Wing.

According to that tree, Amy died 4/4/1947 in St.Boswell's, Roxburgh.

I think this is the Emily you are looking for Rob.
