is it the Melton Mowbray marriage?

          if so, possibly HARRIS

          Marriages Jun 1855 (>99%)
          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PEARS Stephens Melton Mowbray 7a 382a
HARRIS Susannah Melton Mowbray 7a 382

.. which would match the 1851 census entry for a Susannah Harris b 1837 Twyford

I usually add the census reference as well Jess, but as I know Julie just prefers the links then I left it at that!

It's off putting because it gives no clues whatsoever to those that dont have ancestry access.

I understand what you are saying Jess, but what other way could I give a census reference or link in this case?

Its just an observation - could apply to anyone posting /looking.

I still dont know anything more about stephen, than his surname or his wife forename ( Okay I know her maiden name now)

what I meant really was , I had no iidea where in the country ( or world even I suppose) this might have taken place.

few more details , than just the ancestry ref would help perhaps a few more people feel they could contribute, whn you dont have ancestry, there are other sources, but a few clues help

                          HI

Sorry to hijack this thread but I am logged in constantly to Ancestry.com and when people do put direct image links to the UK site I get please subscribe to view. It was by pure chance that I then logged in to the UK version and found my log in details worked I did not even think of doing that previously.

But I do understand what is being said cos if I'd only ogt say FMP I would not have been able to help out either in Julies other posts of late where direct links have been used.

                          Little rant over

but yes name DOB and POB would help.
