Help needed to read some certs.

Could someone tell me.

a) For the birth cert - is the maiden name Horalock

b) What is the fathers occupation

c) Where do they live - 18 Charles Square, area ?

The registration district is Sculcoates Poor Law Union - why was it caused this - were they part of a workhouse?

d) For the marriage certificate - What are the two occupations - Fancy Stationery and Farrier>

Think the area is Wincolmlee

Maiden name looks like Horalock to me. I agree with the other interpretations.

On the other one I think the occupations are Fancy Stationer and Farmer

Sculcoates was a registration district in Hull. I assume that Sculcoates Poor Law Union was a sub-district. I Googled Wilcolmlee and found it's in Hull, so the address hangs together.

The policeman entry - I am not sure as the P in patrick is different. Any other thoughts on this - the cert is dated 1839

Whilst I agree the P is slightly different - the rest of the word is pretty clear I thought, so not sure therefore what else it could be other than policeman

ok, if we go with Policeman and I known that he came from Ireland - are there any police records that I can view to confirm his role as a policeman in the 1830's. I believe he may have been in the Blandford, Dorset & Sculcoates York area during his life.
