      Births Mar 1862

      Matilda?
      Births Mar 1853

The birth years you have are generally not matching up - I know years are often out...
where did you get your info from?

Those figures come from British census of 1871. I also checked my figures I don't have any initials.

The only Matilda mention, in a census, as a maiden, is the one I gave before where she may have been a servant cook.
I did think I had one census page with Benjamin and Matilda along with at least 3 children. It would be 1881, they married 1875 and left for Australia in 1883.

Hi - if you can find the 1881 info, that would be good. Would give an idea who was with them at the time and narrow down searches for bm and d's...

                N.
Ok done a little research on Ancestry as far as it will allow without being a member and the following came up, frankly more that I expected.

                British Census 1881.
                Benjamin Hart / D.o.b. c1852. / Head./ Sex. Male./ Place of birth. Paddington, Lnd. England./ Occupation. Fishmonger.
                Matilda,/ Wife./1854/ 25yrs.

                Census taken.
                67 Goldney St. Kensington/ St. Mary's, Paddington.
                Household.
[Besides parents] Marion [Pauline] 5yr, Charles Henry 3yr, Joseph A.[1yr].]
Sarah would be born in the next year because she is on the ships passengers list. Then Gershon my g/father is born in Sydney. Matilda may have been pregnant whilst sailing.

I can't make the sums work with the figures given for Matilda's D.O.B. Not that it's hyper important when it comes to the whole of the family. It's got to be human error some how.
                In 1932 she died aged 78 =1854. In 1875 she was married age 20 = 1855.
On top of that the 1881 age 25yrs figures give us 1856.

                Very best, Hawk.

Hi Ray - that's not bad going for Matilda's birth year! ; -)
Can you find info for any of the other Solomon family in 1881 - allowing for others who might have married already like Matilda.
