  • Where are Albert & Emma in 1901 / 1981?

Attached is a section of a Bristol 1919 marriage certificate for Emma Stanton

The fathers name appears to be Albert Dan Henry Stanton - deceased.

I can not find any record of a birth, death or any census records for Albert.

    Is his second name Dan?

Can anyone see any records in 1901 for Emma and Albert or 1891 just for Henry?

    Thanks.

There is a death for an Albert D Stanton 1914 Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

There is a Dan Stanton C1861 Liverpool, with wife Maria and two daughters, one an Emma c1889 on the 1901 census in Cheltenham, Gloucester. Could this be the family you are looking for?

My maths aint good, but Emma would have been born in 1892 not 1889, I suppose it's possible she lied about her age when she married.

Yes, there is an Emma Stanton b1889 in Cheltenham.

On the plus side its near bristol where she lived when older and hopefully it will show the father and Albert Dan Stanton - which from the census records it should.

Also there are only 9 emma stanton's born 1889 - 1893 - I have 3 of the birth records for these already and now joy - so the odds are getting better that this one is a match.

Also his death in 1914 would match his daughter saying he was dead in 1919 on her marriage certificate

Also a search of the 1911 census returns only shows a match for Emma Stanton born in 1889 in Cheltenham, no matches for 1892 - so that is good, however can't find her father in the 1911 returns.

On the downside it makes her 30 and not 27 when she married.

Also I can not find a birth entry for an Albert Stanton around 1861 in Liverpool

So I will order the birth cert and see what it says

              Thanks for your help.
