  • Could SKS read the date for me?

Please could someone read the date of baptism for Harriet Knight and her date of birth.

    - Ancestry.co.uk

She is the very last one on the page, but you have to scroll up for the baptism date.

I think Ancestry has incorrectly transcribed the baptism date.

I think the date of birth is 8 August 1825 - but I'm not sure on the baptism date.

I think it has to be 28 August. The one before is dated 28th and the first one on the following page also dated 28th.

        Thanks, Elaine.

I've just noted that she had a twin! Frances! I never knew that!

Elizabeth Knight's father was Abraham Stilwell, my 4x great grandfather.

Good detective work, Elaine. The writing is very poor and I wondered if it was 31st.

Welll, after all that I don't think they are mine!

The Knight family went back into rural Surrey later on.

            In 1841 they are here:
            1841 Census
            HO 107; piece 671; book 1; folio 30; page 11; line 13
Gt Ormond Yard St George the Martyr Middx
            Thomas Knight 50 Wheelwright No
            Elizabeth 45 No
            Harriet 15 Yes

In 1851 the parents are in Milford:
            1851 Census
            HO107; 1597; 77; 12
            Witley Milford Surrey

and Harriett is married and in Hambledon:

There is another baptism for a Harriett Knight
at St George the Martyr !

and Thomas is a coach weaver(?), which looks more promising!

It shows how careful you have to be!
