I am looking for anyone that may be researching the family name of WHALEY from the East End of London (to date).
I have Henry WHALEY born circa 1836 (ish) married to Louisa (nee ARNOLD) with 11 children from 1871 - 1901 when the youngest Caroline was 10.
I am having trouble finding the parents of Henry or even birth infomation. I can't even find him on the London or surrounding district census records before 1871.
In 1871 he puts his age at 35. The only Henry that I can find on the 1861 census is a Henry Watson Whaley, but this doesn't seem to sit comfortable with my instincts. The name Watson doesnot appear anywhere in the family names throughout subsequent generations and he is a servant with his birth place as Middlesex. Am I being blinded by my instincts? I know that information on servants can be misleading but I am stuck (again).
Any help gratefully received
