    Could someone tell me what the status of William Iles is in column 17 of this census record

    I'm not sure what the first word is (crossed out), but the 2nd word looks like Invalid.

      first word possibly senile??, second invalid

        I think its Invalid I also think the first word was going to be Invalid and they mucked it up and started again.

          I agree with Maggie - the beginning of the first word does look the same as the second word.

            I think its invalid, and the first word was mucked up, so crossed out and re-written

              Column 13 says "No occupation" and column 17 says "invalid"; the line through Column 13 looks like one of the marks made by administrators counting different types of entries, after all the information was collected.
              Looking for Bysh, Potter, Littleton, Parke, Franks, Sullivan, Gosden, Carroll, Hurst, Churcher, Covell, Elverson, Giles, Hawkins, Witherden...
