  • Could someone please date this for me ?

I believe it is a Daguerreotype one sixth

From what I can see of it, it would appear to have been taken at the end of the 1850's up until about 1865. The side ringlets to her hair were, in the main, worn by young girls. Coupled with the crinoline skirt, the bell sleeving and the engageantes (the white sleeving) this would all point to the date period that I have given.

We found it with Mother in laws things when she got dementia,so I have no way of knowing if it was her family or father in laws but from what I know all his family before him were Ag labs,so unlikely !
