I am looking for Sarah Christian Stevens in 1861.

She died in 1862 in Mile End Old Town, Middlesex

In 1851 she is Living at 3 Upper John Street, MEOT with her daughters Eliza and Louisa. (HO107; Piece: 1553; Folio: 831; Page: 1)

Can anyone find her?

She had 9 known children

Thomas John Stevens - Nothing after baptism in 1813 (yet)
John James Stevens - Nothing after baptism in 1816 (yet)
Henry Samuel Stevens - Married 1850, Occupation Sailor No trace on census yet
James Isaac Stevens - on All census from 1841-1871
Mary Ann Stevens - Nothing after baptism in 1822 (yet)
Matilda Stevens-Married 1849, Census 1851 and 1861
Louisa Stevens - Census 1841 and 1851
Eliza Stevens - Census 1841 and 1851

the only alternative would be to find the children and see if she is with them, and/or been added as one of their surnames?

I will, just checked TNA and MEOT seems to be complete.

Will have to find the children and pray she is there....Not holding my breath though. Thanks again x

pooooooo

how big an area is TH? my knowledge of london is very poor to say the least.

To be honest I don't know.

*sneaks off to find a map*

Due to the dense housing in the area Tower Hamlets is quite a packed area. The East End of London is not an ideal place to find missing persons on the census.

bum..

have you made a start on looking for the kids?

and if so, where/who have you got to..

Not started yet. just sorting out some bits as going to London tonight to look after my Nan.

Just going to put the kettle on then i'll start

vikki brace

Right

I can rule out her living with
James Isaac Stevens as I have him on census through to 1871.
Matilda Boswell (nee Stevens) as I have her through to 1901
Caroline Peakes (nee Stevens) died in 1859 ad her son is living with Matilda Boswell

Louisa, Eliza, Matilda and Caroline were all baptised on the same day, So you actually have 4 on 1
