Looks like "Portland Town" Jill, if you see further down there is a Thomas & it looks like a "T". :smilee:

It's obvious now you've told me, thankyou ladies. I shall have to find out where that is.
A quick google reveals its near St Johns Wood, which explains why the girl sometimes gives her birthplace as Marylebone/St Johns Wood
