Trying to find my Great Grand Mother...

New to this forum :-)

I am after abit of research advice.

Great Grandfather:- James Gardner
Great Grandmother:- Emily Rose (don't know maiden name)

They were married 1926 -\+ 10 years in West Ham - Essex

The trouble I am having is I don't know my Great Grandmother maiden name - so I getting a bit stuck.

Any advice on where to go would be great

but can't see a marriage.

Did the couple have any children? If so, look up the child's birth on the site I've linked above, and the mother's maiden name should be shown on the index.

EDIT - LOL! Of course they had children otherwise you wouldn't be here! Silly Olde Crone.

Hi from me too

do you have your grandparents birth certificate? this will show you the mother's maiden name - once you have this, it will be easier to find the marriage.

if you don't have the birth certificate, I'd strongly urge you get it, to avoid possibly going off down wrong lines. One thing I learned fairly quickly when I first started - don't rely on anything you have been told, always try to back it up!
