You want to find him on the 1871 census and make sure that he isn't around on the 1881 census ??

he was obviously dead before 1881, but i was hoping someone could find him in 1871. my james conway died in between 1871-81 according to my census entries for his 'widow'. but im just checking the possibilities.

I've found a James Conway born London Middlesex as a private, Battalion 2, Regiment 9, Depot 2 at Farnborough, Hants. With him is wife Eliza and daughter Mary Ann aged I month. Wife Eliza born Ireland and daughter born Aldershot, Hants. 1871,Piece 1232, folio 34, page 24.
