  • Irish certificates

I have found three deaths on the FamilySearch site. They are from the Ireland Civil Registration Indexes 1845-1958. Is it possible to get the certificates and if so where from? I would be very grateful for any pointers.

There are various links on the Ireland Wiki page which should help you out.

If the deaths occurred after 1864 then yes through Roscommon for Southern Ireland and Belfast for Northern Ireland, to be paid for by Euros, if Southern Ireland. A form will have to be completed and you will be required to answer specific questions. If the deaths occurred before 1864 then no, as Irish Registration for births and deaths did not start until after 1864.

However, as Caroline has suggested look at the Wikki for ideas on Irish tracing.

Thank you very much Janet and Caroline. I should have thought of looking at the Wikki myself!
