Looking at "Brynhild" on Google, it was also the name of a 25 metre sailing yacht which raced against "Shamrock" one of the original "J" class yachts. Could he have been on this "Brynhild"?

Aomebody like the Royal Ocean Racing Club might be able to point you at crew lists. There is also a "J" class Assoc which is very active and although she isn't a "J" they too may be able to help. These boats had paid crew, my great-uncle used to race on one.

                Hello Chris,
William was born in Tollesbury, Essex (sorry should have put that.) All his brothers and his father were sailors.
I am hoping to find him on the Brynhild.

BRYNHILD 110220 Crew lists, Portsmouth RO, 1902-1911
                Portsmouth, 1899, Sail; Appropriation books,RSS
BRYNHILD 123312 Portsmouth, 1907, Sail; Appropriation books, RSS

I have his crew lists for 1891 and 1910.
From his ship Belinda I have this info for 1910:
                First name(s): W
                Last name: WILKINSON
                Made mark: Capacity: AB
Year of birth: 1876 Indenture date:
Age: 34 (calculated) Indenture port: -
Place of birth Tollesbury, Essex Ticket number: ?
                Previous ship: Brynhild
                Previous ship port: Cowes
                Previous ship year: 1909

I was hoping if he is on the Brynhild it might give his previous ship as I can't find him on the 1901 census.

If you can look up these crew lists I would be very grateful.

                Kat
