  • Dorset Burial records

I took the plunge and bought some credit on FMP

They have burial records for Dorset but they only show where
a person died. Does anyone know of any NBI records for Dorset ?

    Cheers

    Clare

If you are viewing the NBI records (National Burial Index) it actually gives you place of burial, not death. There are also Memorial Inscriptions available but like a lot of databases it depends if the church you are looking for have transcribed anything.

What are you looking for - name / place / approx years?

These are the coverage details of the databases which were originally on the FHOL site and are now on FMP. The second one is the NBI.

        You could explore here -

HURDELL Elizabeth 1904 1817 Dorset Dorset Burials

HURDELL John 1898 1818 Dorset Dorset Burials

The record for Elizabeth shows the address she lived at, however
          John's does not :(

There is a St Pauls, in Poole but it is a Baptist Church and it has no cemetery.
So could there have been another St Pauls and this one built in it's place
or the service took place here and they were buried at one of the cemeteries
                in Poole ?

                    Hi guys,

I emailed the Poole Museum and they told me that St Paul's Church was
demolished. They have sent me a picture of the church and a map
extract of where it was situated in 1841

                          Hi Joy,

No I didn't contact the OPC. The Poole Museum have kindly offered to
scan the burial records of St Pauls with the details of my ancestors
                          and mail them to me

However if they hadn't of been so kind I would have contacted someone
                          at the OPC.
