Back in April I promised I would visit the churchyard and look for family graves for some of you.
Well at last I have managed to get there, and there is good news and bad news.
The bad news is that I didn't find any of the names I was looking for. A lot of the stones are very hard to read because of the lichen on them, and I only had a couple of hours. The churchyard has been tidied up at some point, and a lot of small stones used to line a path round part of the church, but these only have initials and a date (if that!), so not much use for research.
The good news is that the church was open and I bought a guide that says the Sussex Family History Group have recorded the graves (doesn't say when}, the resulting list being available at the church office. (No doubt the Group will have a copy too.)
