  • NAA download help

    Hello
Could someone please go to the following website, search for Edward Charles Oswald Murray and download his record? Just the first page.

National Archives of Australia - General search

Can you tell me if it saves as a .bmp or .php file?

My computer doesn't recognise .php files. But I used to download them as .bmp files and I don't know why I can't now.

    thanks in advance.

    HI Kit

I've just gone to that site and when I click right Click on the image my computer offers save as jpg or bmp. Teh right click also offer to copy so I clicked copy and pasted it into my Paint prgram.

Thanks Wendy. So it is my computer doing something. It used to save as a bmp when I right clicked and now it doesn't. I have no option to save it as something else.

I'll get my OH to have a look and see if he can work it out.

I've just tried using IE and it works fine.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this for firefox?

I'm about to head out but will be back in a while. I'm not ignoring anyone.

When you right-click in Firefox, instead of Save image as... use Copy image.

You can then use CTRL V to copy it to Paint or a similar program. You can then save it as a jpg or bmp file.

A slightly quicker alternative is to right-click on the image, then choose View image.

CTRL S will then allow you to save as a jpg.
