  • Is Ancestry having an awkward day?

I can't seem to save any census pages to my hard drive.
They apparently save ok, but when I close Ancestry, they vanish!!!

This is getting to be a mite annoying :(

It's working OK for me, Terri. How are you saving them?

The usual way, saving as a jpeg in the relevant file on my hard drive.
They are there, until I close Ancestry, then they vanish!

How bizarre! Do you have an external drive of any kind, e.g. a USB stick? If you have, try saving them to that, then disconnecting it before you exit from Ancestry.

          Bizarre is definitely the word!!!
Just about to try saving them to disk, see what happens.
          Fingers crossed.

            No use!

Won't let me save to disk - getting message "You do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation"

            .......... whatever that means!

Going to swear very loudly, very soon

Is that a message from Ancestry or Windows? Sounds more like a permissions issue on your PC.

It does, but I put stuff on disk every day ... just tried saving something from another site, no problem.

In that case, I'd contact Ancestry's tech support.
