What sort of records are you interested in?
Have you looked on the National Archives of Ireland site? Here's a link:

Raymonds County Down Website is full of Irish Genealogy and County Down information.
County Down IGP
The 1911 census for Down is available free online - see the link in John's post above.
There are also records online on a pay-per-view basis at
Ulster Historical Foundation - Online Searching of Irish ancestral and genealogy records (Births, Deaths, Marriages) for Co. Antrim & Co. Down
but this is quite expensive and coverage is not complete.
