Zip files

Can anyone explain what is happening here for me please?..........

When anyone sends me a zip file, it won't open. It tries to open but all I get is ie's home page flashing on and off the screen, which moves so quickly, it becomes very difficult to shut down, as the red cross is in the same place and I end up hitting the close down cross instead. This can go on for ages until I have to log off completely to get rid of the d+mn thing!:(

Any way to solve this please?

Have you got a unzip program installed?

If not 7zip is good

Thanks Sue, the problem appears to have sorted itself out now. Don't know why it does that to me? They 1st download in the ie zip folder which won't open, then they suddenly appear in ordinary brown folders.......weird or what!
