  • Where was Emma born?

In 1901 Emma Obern was 47 and living at Rack Hill, Chalford, Glos, and Ancestry transcribes her birthplace as Hagley Heath, Hampshire.

Searched Google for such a place but with no joy. Anyone got any bright ideas? So far I have been unable to find her or her offspring in 1891 or 1881.

Can't see any Hag/or Hay places in Hampshire but there is a Hazeley Heath near Hook.

                    A "z" in joined-up writing has a tail like a "g".

Thanks everyone for your help. Why, I wonder, did my search of Ancestry 1891 fail to find her even with all exact matches off? :p
