Records from Fiji in 1876

Seeking some help in regards to finding records for births from Fiji. Looking for a William Albert Hayes b 1876 in Levuka Fiji. Mother Esther and father William. They came to Australia round 1878. Where would be the place to look for more information? Hope someone can help. I am really stuck on this branch as I need to know where they came from originally.

That sounds as if it would still be a "British" birth - so it should figure in the overseas births on FMP?

I'm pretty sure the LDS have them available on film - their website is down for maintenance at the moment so I can't check where/when/what etc - but this link is to their Research Wiki

If you find the date on the LDS film, next you'll need to write to the civil registration department in Fiji for the certificate; but do not quote the references given in the film, only quote the date and place.

Thanks guys. Have looked up the info and am now writing to the Registrar. Can't find a wedding for his parents in England so wonder if they married in Fiji too? They named their family home in Sydney "Levuka" so it must have a special place in their memories! Thanks again.
