  • new to the family tree forum

    Hi
I have never posted before. I have been doing my family tree for about 2 years now.
I was wondering if anyone was doing searches for the names Proud, Mcneill.and Todd

    Welcome to FTF Joyce.

There are some members of the site researching those particular surnames, you would probably be better having a look at the Gedcom database of names we have, it is searchable by any combination of surname, place and year and has just over half a million entries at present.

The results of a search will be listed alongside the name of (and a link to sending a personal message to) the member researching each entry.

You can find the database via the following link

    Upload Your GEDCOM

If you have your tree in GEDCOM format you can also upload it to the database via the same link, should you need to amend, add to or delete the names at any time you can simply upload an updated file or remove all the entries at any time.

      Hi Joyce,
Welcome to the site. You can see if anyone is researching your names by clicking on the button 'gedcom' up above in the blue bar just under where your name shows. You can search all the trees that people on this site have put up and maybe like to put your own up for others to search.
If you have any brick walls or sticking points in your tree post them up and we'll see if we can help.

Welcome to FTF, Joyce. We're friendly, helpful and remarkably knowledgeable about all sorts of useless information. Such as the Thoughts of Donald Rumsfeld:

            The Unknown

            As we know,
            There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
            We also know
            There are known unknowns.
            That is to say
We know there are some things
            We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
            The ones we don't know
            We don't know.

A vital ingredient in tracing your ancestors - make sure you have your Known Knowns tied up before you go on to your Unknown Knowns and beyond.
