I know that some people on FTF visit the Holborn, London probate office every so often. You could put a request out for someone to look through the books for you to see if they can find anything or you could search through past posts/threads to find the people who have offered their help in the past and try to approach them.

I'd go for you but it may be sometime before I next visit England.
