  • Can't find names on 1911 Irish census?

Beware...some hand written census forms are only in IRISH! Which is OK for those that know the language..but most of us don't.

I discoverd this whilst searching for street names in Dublin, to see if any other relations might have lived near my Irish lot.

I discovered that many names are not even transcribed! Some have just an initial and others have been transcribed with a question mark!

Clicked on some to have a look...like you do.. and they were written in Irish...so the names have not been transcribed at all. LOL!

I can't find my Cork City ones either, and I know they should be there because I got them when I was in Dublin!

You might be able to find them by browsing the County > District Electoral Division (DED) > Townland/Street
I found some incorrectly transcribed households that way.
