  • Strinesdale estate in 1950s

I have checked the Google map but the names given to the streets do not appear to be the names that I remember.
May be they have been changed for some reason ?
I used to live near Moorside but can not recall which school the children from Strinesdale would attend.
Is there anyone from the area that could remind me
    Cheers

Which schools, Primary or Secondary? Surely it would have been like anywhere else in the 1950's, not all children would have gone to the same school from the estate. Many would have gone to the various grammar/technical schools in the area. Some would have been RC and gone to Catholic schools, some C of E and gone to C of E schools etc.

I live in Shaw and although I am not familiar with the schools in the Moorside/Strinesdale area, I might be able to help if you can describe roughly where you thought the school was in relation to where you used to live or perhaps in relation to another landmark, e.g. a local church, etc.
