Can i get a copy of a birth certificate when the only details i have are the name and possible location?

Yes, in theory you can but it will cost you more than a standard birth cert because you have to pay a search charge.

Put the name up here and we will have a look to see if we can find it for you.

make sure to tick the box on the front page that says you have the gro ref!! if you dont they will charge more than 7 pounds!! if you get to the end and its not 7 pounds, start again, and click on the box!
