  • 1901 look up please.

I printed off the 1911 for hubby's gg grandfather Ralph Dutton, yesterday & found him living with his 3 sons, one of whom was married with a daughter. Checking back on my records, I discovered that I didn't have the married son in 1901. I found his marriage in 1897 but would appreciate it if someone could find him in 1901. The 1911 lists his wife as having had 3 children, only one surviving, so i am hoping that the other 2 were around in 1901.

The couple I am looking for are Henry Dutton c 1874 Widnes & wife Lucy (Ellen) c 1881 Farnworth, both Lancs.

    Many thanks
    Lynn

I can find a Henry S Dutton with no family in a household as a coachman domestic. He's the only Henry with a remotely likely birth year but he wa born in Cheshire.

EDIT: I wonder why Elaine's one didn't come up in my search.

Thats them Elaine. Odd though that her mother is listed as Whitfield, when she married as Forster. Upton/Farnworth & Widnes all seem to be interchangeable as places of birth for this family. Lucy is one of the missing children, so I still have one to find.

        Thanks for looking Uncle John

I've just noticed when looking back at the 1911, there is a Jane Whitfield listed as a boarder, presumably Lucy's Mum.

In the 1901 census Henry Dutton lived at 22 Foster St, Widnes. He was the son in law aged 27. In the house were: Lucy E Dutton wife aged 20 , Lucy Dutton daughter aged 1, Jane Whitfield the head aged 54 widow, John E Whitfield adopted son aged 20, and Elizabeth J Smith granddaughter aged 12.
          Hope this helps
