  • Births in Chile

    Hi,

My great grandfather had 2 siblings who were born in Chile between 1911 and 1915. Does anyone know if you can obtain birth certificates from Chile?

One of the children, Elsie Moore, is on a passenger list returning to England from Peru (although boarded in Chile) in 1915 aged 1.

I believe there is a second child, Annie Moore, who wasnt listed on the passenger list. This child was born aprox 1912 and may have died before parents returned from Chile in 1915.

Parents are Alfred Moore and Emma nee Taylor.

    Regards
    Claire

They might be in the Overseas births lists, not sure where they are though, possibly FMP.

It's FindmyPast who have overseas births and you will need the Consular records that come up on the search results.

The overseas records are also on Family Relatives.

For anyone else with South American connections, there's an excellent website of Europeans in Argentina.

                  Hi John

I have just seen your reply from last night. What is the website name that you mention about Europeans in Argentina?

Many thanks again for advising on websites to try.

                  Regards

                    This is the Argentinian site:

British Settlers in Argentina in past years: their names collected from church records, census returns and other documents: author Jeremy Howat

It's very good but not comprehensive (I've found a lot of my people on there, but not all of them).

I don't think there's a similar one for Chile, but you could try:
