  • Christiana Harriott 1841

    Hello all

Can anybody help me locate Christiana Harriott on the 1841 census please?

Christiana (Nee Pruden) was born c1780 in Edmonton London.

She would have been a widow by the time the 1841 census as there is a reference from Canada stating that her son was looking after her financially (Well off indeed).

She should be in London as she died in 1844 in London.

Any help locating her would be very welcome

The only one I can see that is vaguely possible is this one:

Name transcribed as Christiana Hoperott - born c 1776
    - Ancestry.co.uk
HO107; Piece 661; Book: 5; Civil Parish: St James Clerkenwell; County: Middlesex; Enumeration District: 12; Folio: 34; Page: 20; Line: 16

The name on the image doesn't actually look like Harriott, but maybe it was misrecorded!
I see she died in the Islington registration district which is less than a mile from Clerkenwell.

      How about this?

HO107 piece 1047 folio 5/13 page 18 (John Street, Bermondsey)

      Christan Harrot (Hurrot?), 55, Laundress
Samuel Harrot, 19, (I can't read the occupation)

They seem to be in the same household as Williamm Redman (?), 59, Jane Redman, 49 and Elizabeth Granon, 84.

Pitman / Pittman in North Glos (Didbrook, Prestbury, Longhope, Tewkesbury, Stow, Cirencester, etc), London & Australia

        Elaine and Scuda

Thankyou both for helping to look, I will look into both and also see if I can fit Samuel ib to the frame as he might be able to confirm whether or not that is my Christiana.
