  • can't find Zusman in 1911

Zusman Hart also recorded as Zuzman, Zuesman, Zuseman etc as well as mistranscribed as Tusman, Luisman, Guessman etc etc.

Born 1854 in Middlesex Street, City of London, he usually says born Whitechapel or Aldgate on his census forms.

    This is him 1901
    RG13/240 104 p.43
106 Long Acre, St Martin's in the fields Strand
    >>>Zusman Hart abt 1854 Aldgate Head fishmonger own account

I can't find him or his children in 1911. His wife Julia died 1909 at
16 Mercer Chambers, Neal Street, Strand area of London.
and he remarried in 1916 in Paddington (where his father and other family members lived at various times).

    Any ideas?

Hi Val, yes that is his son Zalig/Zalek!

This chap Zusman is so difficult. I thought with a name like Zusman he would be dead easy to find but he is mistranscribed on every single census and doesn't appear to have died.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to look.

just picking out the unusual ones, in case of mistranscriptions:

                                in london:
there's a hudal hart age 56 b.1855, living in st george in the east.
a jabez hart b.1853, age 58 in wandsworth
not weird but unusual!! "lady charlotte victoria hart, b.1851, living in kensington"
lichel hart, b.1854, age 57 in southwark
lipman hart, b.1856, age 55, in paddington
mendel hart, b.1856, age 55, in st george in the east
haha, a rockester william lee hart! b.1854 in lambeth

                                in middlesex:
hyman hart, b.1854, age 57, in edmonton

                                    Thank you kylejustin.

I saw Hudal and think its meant to be Jubal (or possibly Judah). No more credits to check on them yet, I am now going to wait till I go to Kew to use the 1911 for free.

This man is so hard to find but I managed on the other censuses so I hope I will track him down. If all else fails I will get his marriage cert and see if there's an address there to trace.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to look, much appreciated.

Might you be better to find Catherine A Hart death and get a cert. to see if he is alive or at least mentioned?

                                      Good luck
