          excellent stuff could it be Gilder as he was a gilder by trade, although would it metnion it here???...........gilder and carver???

                    I think it probably does say "gas fitter". I hadn't noticed the date at first, but you're talking mid-C19th, so "gas fitter" would be a perfectly reasonable trade.

                          Thanks Janet, initially the words gilder or graver threw me as I did not expect to see that info in a burial record, but it does fit with the entry below of gas fitter...........its not easy is it.....!!!..............special thanks to you all, I would not have managed the translation without your help
