  • isle of man help please

i have an uncle who died on the isle of man.

from the isle of man burials page:
    Burials, Toal - Tyzack

    name/age/par/date
    twyford, hugh- 44, dsg, 13 jan 1844

am i right in thinking he was buried on the 13 jan 1844, in the dsg parish? what does dsg stand for?

i dont know why he was there, but i can't see a site for death certs. im sure i can get a death cert?

Douglas is not a parish, but I agree with UJ - dsg stands for Douglas St George, the name of the church where he was interred.

I don't think you can get a death cert that early from IOM, but I will stand corrected.

The LDS have filmed many church records from IOM, so you may be able to borrow the film to view which may tell you a bit more.
