What format??

What format should attachments be to be posted on this site? I have in the past tried to post census & birth certs. with no success.

When you create or edit a post you will see a tiny paper clip icon just above the message field (it's in among a number of other icons).

Click on the paper clip icon and you will see a list of the different file formats that the site will accept.

Saying that the most common file format that members use is .jpg and the most common way members display their images is via photobucket.

It is also good to note that using the paperclip/attachment icon reduces the file size, often making certificate/census images too small to read.
By hosting an image on an external site such as Photobucket it is possible to upload larger images.
