Can you give some idea of where in the country they might be - also the year and place of birth of Alfred and Harriett.

Educated guess here seeing as I have just found a marriage on the Isle of Wight between Alfred George Ford and Harriett Squibb - am presuming this might be the right one!

      1901 census

Alfred Geo Ford c1860 Isle of Wight, Brading - occ labourer in timber yard
Harriet Ford Alfred Geo abt 1862 Isle of Wight, Newport
Reginald Charle Ford c 1900 Isle of Wight, Sandown
Selina Melinda Harriet c 1897 Isle of Wight, Sandown

address 8 Culver Cottages, Fort Street, Sandown.

Source Citation: Class: RG13; Piece: 1027; Folio: 91; Page: 5.

If it's not the right family then let us know!

The BMD Index, on the Isle of Wight Family History Society site, shows the following Ford children with mother's maiden name SQUIBB.

          Births:
          FORD, George, Henry 1891 Brading
          FORD, Walter, Henry 1891 Brading
          FORD, Ambrose, Henry 1894 Brading
          FORD, Alfred, George 1894 Brading
FORD, Selina, Melinda, Harriet 1896 Brading
FORD, Reginald, Charles, John 1900 Brading
FORD, Ferederick, George, Henry 1903 Brading

          These could be relevant deaths:
FORD, George, Henry 1891 age 30 days Brading
FORD, Walter, Henry 1892 age 10 months Brading
FORD, Alfred, George 1894 age 9 days Brading
FORD, Ambrose, Henry 1895 age 10 months Brading
FORD, Frederick, George, Henry 1904 age 14 months Brading

Might be worth getting the 1911 census to see how many children they had in total - will give you the number that are alive, and the number that have died.

I just deleted that entry for John on the 1901 census listing I gave you - the image is not very clear and the name John is written under Reginald Charles.

I thought initially it was a separate person but I can see from the birth registration that his full name was Reginald Charles John Ford.

Do you have access to Ancestry to view the image?

                  Thanks again Elle,
i have a tree on Ancestry but not a paid member,
but i feel you may be right that it should be Reginald Charles John
this family had nearly all their children die very young
we have another mistery unable to find anything about Selina Melinda Ford B1896 no marriage or death
                  Regards Kath & Patricia

Can't see anything obvious on the Isle of Wight FHS site for Selina.

                        Thank You Elle

Thanks heaps for the lookups on my Ford family. Is the 1911 census free, or do i have to be a member of Ancestry?
                        Kind Regards

its not on ancestry, and you will have to sign up. its pay per view though.
once signed up, you will be able to access findmypast with the same log in info. findmypast will eventually have the 1911 as a sub.

Welcome to the official 1911 Census website
