  • scottish census help please

im absolutely stuck with a majority of my scots family, that is the ones who didnt come to australia.

i have 2 matheson families. one i have in 1841 an 1851, they emmigrated in 1853.the other i only have in 1841, ive somehow lost the 1851 for them.

    ok, from freecen.
1841- cathair, applecross, ross and cromarty

dugald matheson- 50, born ross and cromarty. sheepherd
    anne matheson- 20, born r&c
    murdoch matheson- 18, born r&c
    mary matheson- 18, born r&c
    catherine matheson - 15, born r&c
    rebecca matheson- 12, born r&c
    alexr matheson- 11, born r&c

anne and catherine's baptisms are non existant.
murdoch and mary are twins, ch.3 jun 1822, applecross to dugald and his wife beatrix mckenzie.
rebecca was christened 4 sep 1827, applecross to dugald and rebecca mclennan.
alexander is my ancestor, and was ch.2 may 1830, applecross, full sibling of rebecca.

alexander, mary and rebecca emmigrated to australia in 1853 on the new zealander. they were with their uncle farquhar matheson 1792-1883, and his family. they are the other matheson family.

so, can someone find dugald and his family in 1851 please? they should be born in applecross.
and catherine, murdoch and anne after that?

      I'm guessing this is Murdoch:

      Murdoch Matheson 30
      Peggie Matheson 31
      Kenneth Matheson 6
      John Matheson 3
      Isabella Matheson 3
Parish: Lochalsh; ED: 7; Page: 16; Line: 7; Roll 1034

He's down as being born Lochalsh.

Remember that Peggy is likely to be a Margaret!!
There is a marriage between a Murdo Matheson and a Mgt McKeron, 1844, Lochalsh, R&C
!844 would have been about right for the 1st child b c 1855.
What do you think or am I on the wrong track?

          Edit
oops mails have crossed - great minds think alike - he he
