  • Goulding

    Hi,

Am returning to my family tree after a break of a few years.

Hoping to add some more information to get me on my way.

I am currently investigating my Great Grandfather, Edwin Goulding and his family.

I know Edwin was born in Fiskerton, Lincs in 1852, died Rowen, Conwy in 1937. His parents were George Goulding and Elizabeth Versey. He married Betsy Athey (1849-1929) in 1873.

I know enough about Edwin to keep me going for some time, but I don't have any info about his siblings:
    George b1845
    Betsey b1847
    Ann b1850
    William b1854
    Mary b1857
    Fred b1860
    Sarah b 1862
I hope someone has some snippets that can help me get a grip on this part of the tree.

I'm also stuck on a couple of his children. He had nine that I know about.
Willie b1876, Betsy b&d1881, Flora Frances b1888, Violet Editha b&d1891, Violet Gertrude E b1893 and George (my grandfather) b1894 I know enough about.
Polley b1878, Edwin b1880 and Bessie (no DoB) I'm struggling on.
My Father, Leslie, doesn't remember them.

Sorry for the long winded message, just have fingers crossed that some kind soul out there has access to the information I need.

Looking forward to hearing from someone, any one

    Adrian

you should post up the cenus info you have. that way, people know what it is you want, and will enable them to be quicker.

that way, we can see what you have, and what you dont.

Hello Adrian and Welcome to FTF.

If you have a look along the top of the page in the blue section, you will see GEDCOM. Click that and you can search who else has Gouldings. There are a few. If you see any that might match, click on the owner's name and send a private message (pm).

Also, if you upload your own Gedcom, others can see and contact you.

        Hi kylejustin and Harrys mum,

        Thank you for your replies
I will sort out the census data I have and post it here, and I am working on uploading my GEDCOM. Just need to tidy it up, I wasn't so careful as I am now when I first produced one.
Hopefully something will come to light

        Adrian

            Hello Adrian

Welcome to FTF. I have Gouldings in my tree. I have a brick wall with my 2xGt.Grandfather John Goulding who was born in Welton, Lincs in c1796.

Would there be a connection to your Gouldings ?

I was hoping you'd have a look. I didn't want to put your name up here without your permission....

Wow, many thanks That certainly looks like one of Edwin's brothers.
                    I will investigate further.

                      Hi Joy

Thank you. I have heard tell that there was a John Goulding somewhere in the dim and distant past.
My 2xGt.Grandfather was named George Goulding, born c1795. Could be that they were brothers?
Another thread to try and interweave

Will let you know what I come up with.

                        Hi again Alan,

Well that is a distinct possibility because we know that Bessie was in service at Arnhall, and at Gloddaeth Hall School for Girls, for many years.
But that is as much as we know.

Funnily enough I now live in Warrington
