  • Hampshire Parish Registers

I would be grateful of some information.
I have had a look at the Wiki but don't seem to be able to find what I want.
It would be a real help if some of you kind people could nudge me in the correct direction.
I am trying to find out if Hampshire has Parish Registers on-line. I am interested in the village of Farringdon.
    Many thanks.

Hampshire Parish Registers are not on line. However there are several websites that hold some records.

    Try this one

Thanks again - I had a feeling that the records were not on-line.
The site you sent me is useful but I have just realised that the link to Hampshire Online Parish Clerk is one I have viewed before.
However it is useful to keep in mind just in case my family get added at a later date.
        Best wishes.

I hope you keep going back to have a look... I realised that I hadn't looked for ages, because I'd looked once or twice and found nothing. Then I went back, some (months, at least) later, and found a whole lot more info, including useful stuff for my tree.

Yes Christine - I agree, well worth looking at the site now and again to check for additions.

I do this all the time with my brick walls, hoping their names will suddenly appear - so far no luck but I keep trying as you just never know when they might appear (fingers and toes crossed)

Does anybody know of anything online for the Isle of Wight? I'm interested in baptisms and marriages in the Newport area, about 1800-1830, which doesn't seem to be covered by the IGI. I checked the Wiki, but didn't find anything.

IoW FHS has their BMD site, but was all 1837+ when I last looked.

Is there anything on Knightroots? I haven't looked.

Don't think there is much Mary. I do have a CD for Hampshire and the IOW, which covers 1780 to 1812 if that is of any help to you. Send me the derails and I'll have a look for you.

Yes, the FHS site is still 1837 onwards. Can't see anything on Knightroots either.

Thanks, Wendy - the main event I was looking for was about 1827, but I think there was something earlier, too. I'll check and PM you.
