Val is the reason you want a separate printer so you don't have to go out to the garage every time?

The reason I ask is because if you have networked your PC and laptop you can also network the printers. I did this with my son's laptop which saved him either having to email me print jobs or saving them onto a stick so that he can print them down here. It was really easy to do.

The only drawback is that the PC has to be turned on before it will print.

hi Dave I am using the small bedroom as a office so it would be in here with me ,one of the reasons I dont want a huge one.
Jackie thanks for your reply ,I had too much trouble trying to use the PC and the Laptop so had to buy a seperate wireless router for this, and I have to unplug the Router in here to use the PC out there so its too much trouble really thanks .

Why have seperate wireless routers for each PC, why do you have to turn one off before you can use the other ??

I dont know Ron but the PC is outside in the Garage and the Laptop indoors would not pick up the signal I had lots of problems with it till I bought this new Router ,so now I switch the Router off outside when I'm in and the Router off inside when I'm out otherwise I dont seem able to use one or other.

There must be something wrong with your laptop, my wireless lappie picks up every network in the surrounding streets. Have you searched for available networks on your indoor lappie when the router is on in the garage.

Right click on the wireless icon located on the Taskbar down by your pc's clock and select "View available networks" if it says you are connected and your not click on "Repair"

Go into Network Connections and delete all the connections that are in there and reboot, I did this with my grand daughters when it wouldn't log into her home network, it cured it when I restarted it, it found the router that it had never found before.

                          Daj, that's nice and cheap
I'd been wondering about getting an additional printer ~ our all in one is very good but the ink (6 colours) is insanely expensive

                          Welcome to FTF ;)

Ooooooo ~ cheaper at Argos ! and there's a video

Windows will reinstall any network connections automatically, wireless and wired, any wired connection is guaranteed by me 100 % to reinstall itself once deleted and you reboot. Any wireless connections will also be there you will just have to log into them using your wireless network pass key

Wish I had got another Epson now

Sorry to hear you're not happy with your new printer Val. Is it the HP F2280 you got?
I know nothing about it, but maybe you can fix the compatibility issue by downloading the latest drivers?
